Temple Development

Phase I

The phase I construction project comprises two main buildings:

  1. The Great Compassion Hall, dedicated to enshrine the Thousand-Handed Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva;

  2. Monastic Kitchen (Da Liao) together with a spacious, well-lit Lecture & Dining Hall (Canteen), the layout can be adjusted as needed to accommodate a growing number of practitioners, providing a communal space for practice and fostering wider Dharma connections.

Great Compassion Hall
Designed as a two-storey facility with full accessibility features, the upper level will serve as the main shrine hall housing the sacred statue of the Thousand-Handed Thousand-Eyed Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva. Bright, solemn, and dignified, it will be the central venue for daily chanting sessions and Dharma assemblies.

The lower level will contain monastic quarters, reading area, and a multifunctional room.

Lecture & Dining Hall
This building will consist of two main sections: 1. Lecture & Dining Hall; 2. Monastic Kitchen (Da Liao).

  1. The Lecture Hall serves as a venue for Dharma Classes, and also functions as a Dining The dining hall serves as the place for monastic communal meals (guotang) in the Buddhist tradition.
  2. The existing Monastic Kitchen (Da Liao) is small and lacks adequate facilities, making it unable to meet the needs of preparing meals for a large number of attendees. The construction of a combined Lecture & Dining Hall has become an urgent necessity.

Estimated Cost

The initial estimate for Phase I is approximately $12 million CAD.
